Description of the visit:
Technical tour to the discover of Alento Dam. The guide will explain the history of the structure and how it is used. Internal tunnels and monitoring systems will also be visited.
Conducted by qualified guides, the visit is suitable for students of all ages and includes the dam crowning and part of the inner passages to the vestment; in addition to the explaination of the structure and the functioning of the complex, important information will be provided about the rational use of water in this land, before and after the realization of the artificial basin, and about the use of renewable energy resources, also in relation to the ongoing climate changes. The Alento Dam is among the few in Italy and in Europe to be permanently open to the public.
